Greengate Brewery

In celebration of October, I am going to try and spotlight and highlight some of the world’s well-known haunted taverns, pubs and breweries.

The first entry lies in jolly old England – Greengate Brewery.

he Greengate Brewery is a brewery in England.

The Greengate Brewery, comprised of several buildings, was built in the 17th century. John Lee purchased the buildings 1828 with the hopes of establishing his own brewery. Today the brewery works under the name JW Lees & Co.

According to legend, several workers died due to the brewery well sinking. Even the supervisor went missing. His body was found at the bottom of the well.

Brewery workers have talked of hauntings and have encountered the ghosts throughout the day. Some of the spirits who supposedly haunt the brewery include a woman sitting at the JW Lees boardroom table, a lady wearing a long brown dress who walks into the kitchen and a cloaked figure in the brew house.
